At Asan, we take product quality and safety extremely seriously. At every stage from design to manufacture, we strive to uphold the highest international standards, so that our customers receive the very best in period care.

asan's unique design

The Asan menstrual cup’s original design was developed at the Harvard Innovation Lab, USA. We conducted four rounds of rigorous user testing to ensure that every aspect of our cup’s design — from the thickness of the walls to our unique removal ring — were optimised to be comfortable and prevent leaks. Our unique shape is protected by registered design rights in the UK, EU and India. Every Asan cup contains an imprint of the Asan logo on the outside of the cup.

safety of silicone material 

Asan follows strict material sourcing principles in line with ISO 10993: Biological evaluation of medical devices. We only use USP Class VI (medical grade) silicone in our cups. In addition to sourcing certified Class VI silicone, Asan conducts rigorous independent testing in accredited labs to ensure that all materials used in our cup are safe for human use. Asan is against animal testing and none of our products are tested on animals.

material traceability

Asan is proud to have implemented a rigorous, end-to-end batch traceability system. If you provide us with the unique barcode of the menstrual cup you purchased, we will immediately be able to trace the date of manufacture and the batch of silicone raw material used in your product. factory audits

Asan carefully selects the manufacturers we work with to ensure that they adhere to the highest quality and safety standards. Our suppliers are ISO:9001 certified and our cups are manufactured in a highly sanitised environment that is free of dust and other pollutants. All the vendors we work with sign up to our policies on environmental sustainability and fair working conditions.

packaging quality

At Asan, our commitment to the highest quality standards goes beyond our menstrual cup. Our packaging is made from over 95% recyclable material and our cloth pouch is made from breathable, natural cotton rather than synthetic fabric. Read more about our commitment to sustainability here.
