You’ve got this, one step at a time 💛
All your questions, answered
Why menstrual cups?
Because they make periods a breeze! A menstrual cup is an insertable product that collects your flow, replacing pads and tampons.
Cups can take a few tries to get used to, but once you switch, you won’t look back. The Asan cup holds 3 times more flow than a pad and you can wear it for 12 hours. You can go to work, exercise and swim, and even sleep all night with it in.
It’s reusable for up to 10 years, great for your wallet and the planet.
Why period pants?
Who needs pads when your underwear can absorb your flow? Asan’s period pants are made from soft cotton – it’s designed to feel just like regular underwear, but has a leak-proof gusset that holds your flow.
The gusset locks in and neutralises moisture, ensuring an odour and rash-free period. It’s perfect for spotting, as a back-up to the cup, or on its own. You can wash and reuse your underwear for 2 years.
Do these products contain plastic?
Nope, none! The Asan menstrual cup is made from 100% Class VI medical grade silicone - which is the same material used in heart stents. It free from plastics, toxins, perfumes, all the nasty stuff that pads contain.
The Asan period pants are made from cotton and is free of micro-plastics in accordance with global EOKO-TEX standards.
Can I sleep and exercise with the cup and period pants?
With these products, you can do anything. We designed the Asan cup with busy women in mind: long days at work, family time, holidays – you can experience life with zero leaks or stress.
Our period pants are also great for activity and overnight use. If you have super heavy flow, we advise wearing them together, for ultimate protection.
Can I wear period pants for spotting and discharge?
Absolutely. The Asan period pants are perfect for spotting and discharge. We like to wear it a day or two before our period arrives, so we aren’t caught by surprise!
Is this combo pack worth the price?
Here’s the math. Over a 3 year period, the average person spends £150 on period products. Our bundle costs £31.49, but the products are reusable for years to come.
Since period products come into direct contact with the body, it’s important to choose a trusted brand. Asan’s products are certified as ISO 13485 medical devices. Our cup has a patented design and our underwear is made with premium cotton, in line with EOKO-TEX safety standards, to be PFAS-free. We don’t skimp on quality and we know you’ll feel the difference.
How do I insert the Asan menstrual cup?
Fold the cup in half, then gently insert it into the vagina, at a slight angle toward your tailbone.
Once inside, the cup should open up and create a light seal with your vaginal walls. If it’s correctly positioned, you shouldn’t feel it at all.
The Asan cup comes with a detailed user guide with illustrations, so rest assured you will get it right within a few months.
How do I remove the Asan menstrual cup?
Asan’s ring design makes removal much easier. To locate your cup, guide two fingers into the vagina and tug on the ring to bring it lower.
Once you can feel the base of the cup, pinch it to break the seal, and gently wiggle it out. You can empty it, wash it and reuse it straight away.
Will the period pants stain other clothes in the washing machine?
No, the Asan period pants will not stain other clothes.
We recommend rinsing them in cold water before placing them in the washing machine to remove excess blood. This helps preserve both the period pants and the rest of your laundry.
How do I clean these period products?
To clean the Asan cup, boil your Asan cup for 10 minutes before and after your period. During your period, simply empty the cup, rinse with tap water and reinsert.
To clean your period pants, first rinse in cold water. Squeeze a few drops of the OneDrop cleanser on the gusset. Then hand wash or place it in a cold machine wash. Hang to dry.
